The PAK7 International Council was announced at the London and Lahore Charter Meetings. The PAK7 Working Group accepted the recommendations of its Nominating Committee after weeks of prayerful deliberations. Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali was elected Chairman; Bishop Nazir-Ali is the Director of the Oxford Centre for Training, Research, Advocacy and Dialogue. He served as Assistant to the Archbishop of Canterbury and as General Secretary of the Church Mission Society. He is the author of many books and articles on Christian-Muslim relations as well as medical ethics. Dr. Farhana Nazir was elected Deputy Chairman; she serves on the faculty of Gujranwala Theological Seminary. Rev. Dr. Curtis Young was elected Secretary; Dr. Young is Senior Pastor of Church of the Atonement and serves on the Executive Committee of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Synod. Dr. Terence Ascott, founder and CEO of SAT-7 and pioneer of the “John 17 model” brings a wealth of media ministry experience and wisdom. Bishop Humphrey Peters, Moderator and Primate of the Church of Pakistan brings a depth of knowledge of Pakistan and a big heart for all the peoples of Pakistan.
Rev. Zeeshan Sadiq studied in the United States as well as in Pakistan, and serves as the Secretary of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Pakistan. Mr. Adnan Azhar Sandhu is the Executive Director, Pakistan Sunday School Ministry and a Lausanne Movement Catalyst. Last but certainly not least is Dr. Maqsood Kamil, the esteemed Vice Principal, Gujranwala Theological Seminary. Gordon Bell has had the privilege of serving as the PAK7 Catalyst. Seven other women and men also serve on the International Council.
The PAK7 International Council is made up of 15 distinguished men and women of God, the majority of whom are Pakistani. Collectively they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in visionary leadership, Christian ministry, Pakistani culture, television and media ministry. We praise God for this major answer to prayer!
