A Paralyzed Man Who Reached the Lost

God’s ways really are infinitely higher than ours. All his ways are good and true. He uses what the world considers foolish things to humble the proud.

Recently it was my privilege to hear from some brothers and sisters of International Cooperating Ministries who have an interest in PAK7. Through them I discovered an amazing account of how God used the late  Dick Woodward to start a ministry that has touched countless lives with the life-transforming gospel. It is so clearly a “God Thing,” that I had to share it. The Lord used this dear brother to start a dynamic ministry even though he to do most of his work as a bed-ridden quadriplegic.  Our God is so great!

I was reminded of the story of a great golfer in Scotland who once took a broken branch and played a great game of golf. After he accomplished this feat, no one said “Wow, what great clubs!” They said, “Wow, what a great golfer!” That’s why God uses the humble and the “foolish things of this world.” It’s not about the golf clubs.

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
47     and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant…
He has shown strength with his arm;
    he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
    and exalted those of humble estate. (Luke 1:47-52)
